On the invitation of Venerable Bhikku Ratnaguna, Chief Prelate of the Hương Đạo Buddhist Temple in Fort Worth, Texas Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka, and Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States Mahinda Samarasinghe participated at the Vesak ceremony at the Hương Đạo Vipassanā Bhavānā Center, in Dallas, Texas. This is also the temple of Venerable Pannakara who led the ‘Walk for Peace’ in the United States and Sri Lanka recently. Buddha Relics and Bo sapling of Sri Maha Bodhi were brought over from Sri Lanka by Most Venerable Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo, Ven. Wellagiriye Sumangala Nayaka Thero and Ven. Ambaliyadde Gunarathana Nayaka Thero of Hanguranketha Madanwala Pirivena and Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara as part of the 10-day exposition of the Holy Relics of the Buddha and Bo Sapling of Sri Maha Bodhi for the veneration of the general public at the Hương Đạo temple. The Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka, on the instructions of H.E. the President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, loaned Buddha relics that were brought over by three officers of the Archaeological Department and will be taken back to Sri Lanka after the conclusion of the 10-day exposition. Thousands of devotees are visiting Hương Đạo temple to worship.
